From what I've been reading about Kenya lately this should be welcome news, shit has gotten baaaaad over there lately. I can appreciate that there may be feelings of disappointment that he can't finish the things he started, but it must feel good to be getting out of a bad area like that. Maybe I'm just a pussy though.
I haven't talked to him yet, but from what I heard he doesn't believe he was ever in any real danger. I'm not sure if he's coming home, going somewhere else, or what.
