I win

I'm going to see My Bloody Valentine tonight. I am excited. I will report back. Also, the dude from Lift to Experience is opening which is cool because I used to be into them but haven't even thought of them in probably 4 years.

Ok. First off, this was the first show I have ever attended while wearing ear plugs the whole time. Suge, you weren't kidding, holy shit were they loud. Second, this may have been the best show I've ever seen. I don't know if they did the same set when you saw them, but did they do that thing near the end where they just got absolutely out of this world loud for like ten minutes and it literally shook the air around you? I hope they did. That fucking blew me away. I remember thinking to myself during the show that it was pretty insane how I could feel every kick drum hit like a wave of air coming at me, but during the crazy noise freak out part it was 1000x as intense. I cannot imagine what that was like without earplugs. They gave them out to everyone at the door and recommended everyone wear them, but I still saw a lot of people with fingers in their ears when it was at its peak. Kevin and Bilinda each have massive armies of beautiful guitars. Kevin played through 3 Marshall full stacks and 3 Vox half stacks, Bilinda played through 2 half stacks and the bass player played through two full stack bass amps, one ampeg and one marshall. Such a good show, glad I spent the 45 bucks on the ticket.

yup, they did that noise wall at the end with "you made me realise." for at least 25 minutes! i didn't time from the beginning, but i did clock at least that long. the audience's reactions were great to watch. some were fist-pumping-yeahs! some left looking defeated and miserable. my favroties were the ones who left furious and cursing -- more than one miming masturbation.

i loved the show though. it didn't disappoint, even after 17 years of anticipation. i thought i would take my earplugs out for the songs i really loved, but i quickly realized i loved them all. so they stayed in except for a couple of seconds here and there.

Yeah I took mine out for a bit during Only Shallow and When you Sleep. I posted the setlist below. I cant confirm its accuracy as I was much too happy to commit it all to memory. Another wonderful side effect of this show is that I have been listening to Lift To Experience all day long. I had honestly forgotten just how good those guys were. Go to their myspace (http://www.myspace.com/officiallifttoexperience) and listen to "Falling From Cloud 9" if you have forgotten too.

I Only Said
When You Sleep
You Never Should
(When You Wake) You’re Still In A Dream
Cigarette in Your Bed
Come In Alone
Only Shallow
Thorn
Nothing Much To Lose
To Here Knows When
Blown A Wish (not 100% sure, honestly. Between the volume and the strobes, this is about where things got a bit blurry; did I just imagine this song?)
Slow
Soon
Feed Me With Your Kiss
You Made Me Realise

When I said they went nuts for ten minutes during you made me realise, honestly, I just picked a number, the reviews I've been reading have all put it in the 20-30 minute range, so thats probably more accurate.
